Active Weather Pattern Today through Sunday Morning

National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio, TX 3/15/2024 8:05

A Level 1-3 out of 5 risk for scattered severe storms today across south-central Texas.  Then after morning activity moves east, a second round of scattered storms is possible 2-10 PM along a cold front.

Large to very large hail and damaging winds gusts are the main threats.  Storms may produce heavy rainfall with robust rainfall rates leading to isolated flash flooding.  There is high confidence that there will be multiple rounds of showers and storms tonight through Sunday morning.  Overnight tonight, favored storm coverage will be over western and southern areas.  Confidence is low on exact timing and locations Saturday through Sunday morning.  Pockets of heavy rainfall are possible through Sunday morning, which could produce isolated flooding.  A few strong to severe storms capable of producing hail are also possible.
